changedetection.io proxy setup
changedetection.io watches pages for changes, prices and restocks, and retailers block the repeated checks a watch makes. Save the gateway once under Extra Proxies and each watch fetches through a residential IP. Location rides in the username, so one login covers every country: save one proxy per market and point each watch at the one it needs.

- Open Settings › CAPTCHA & Proxies.
- Under Extra Proxies, add a row: a name such as proxmint-us and the proxy URL below, with the login and password from your dashboard. Click Save.
- Open Settings › General and pick the proxy under Proxy Configuration to make it the default. With more than one proxy saved, each watch can use its own.
- Recheck a watch and confirm the snapshot is the page, not an error or a block page.

Tips & gotchas
- The plain requests fetcher takes HTTP on port 823 or SOCKS5 on port 824 (socks5h:// resolves hostnames at the exit). With the Chrome/Playwright fetcher use the HTTP endpoint: Chromium won't send a username and password to a SOCKS5 proxy.
- Each check costs what it downloads. The requests fetcher pulls only the HTML; the browser fetcher also loads scripts and images through the proxy, often many times the weight. Keep the browser fetcher for pages that need JavaScript to show the price.
- HTTP_PROXY and HTTPS_PROXY also carry changedetection.io's notifications, so alerts leave through the proxy and draw from your GB. Add the notification hosts to NO_PROXY, or use Extra Proxies instead of the variables.
- To watch one product in several markets, save one proxy per country (__cr.us, __cr.de, __cr.gb) and clone the watch for each. City, state, ZIP and ASN targeting meter at 2× on every pool except premium residential.
- The gateway forwards only to ports 80, 443, 8080, 8443, 8888, 8090, 53, 853, 5060 and 5228, so a watch on any other port fails through the proxy.

How do I add a proxy to changedetection.io?

Which proxy works best for price and restock watches?

Why does my watch fail after I set the proxy?
Check the URL format first: http://login:password@gw.proxmint.com:823, with the targeting inside the login. A browser-fetcher watch on a SOCKS5 URL fails, so use HTTP there. A site on the network's blocked list or a port outside 80, 443, 8080, 8443, 8888, 8090, 53, 853, 5060 and 5228 fails too.
