Kameleo proxy setup
Kameleo sets the proxy per profile: switch Proxy to With Proxy while you create a profile, keep the HTTP tab, and fill in the host, port, username and password. A profile created through Kameleo's Local API takes the same four values, so a scraper gets its proxy without anyone opening the app. The username carries your targeting keys, so one set of credentials covers every country and every profile.

Tips & gotchas
- The HTTP tab is port 823 and the SOCKS5 tab is 824; a profile with one tab and the other port never connects. The SSH tab is for an SSH server of your own and doesn't apply.
- Username and Password say Optional because a proxy can also recognise you by IP. Ours can: add the machine's IP under Access on the product's dashboard page, leave both fields empty, and the product's saved Targeting picks the country. Otherwise fill in both.
- Leave WebRTC, Timezone and Geolocation on Automatic. Kameleo then sets them from the proxy's IP, so a US exit gets a US time zone. A new session can land in a different city of the same country, so add ;city.newyork if a profile must keep one time zone. City targeting meters at 2× on every pool except premium residential.
- Playwright attaches to a running profile at ws://localhost:5050/playwright/<profile id>, and Kameleo's own examples cover Selenium and Puppeteer too. The proxy rides along with the profile, so the script never sees the credentials.

What is Kameleo?
Kameleo is an antidetect browser built as much for web scraping and automation as for account work. Profiles run on Chroma, its Chromium-based browser, or Junglefox, its Firefox-based one, with real fingerprints and emulated mobile browsers, and a Local API with Python, TypeScript and C# clients drives them from Selenium, Puppeteer or Playwright. Local storage is unlimited on every plan. The Free plan includes 100 cloud profiles and 3 team members; Startup is €59 a month, Business €299 and Enterprise €1,499, each cheaper billed yearly.
Kameleo key features
- Chroma and Junglefox. Kameleo's own Chromium- and Firefox-based browsers, plus emulated mobile browsers for phone fingerprints.
- Fingerprints. Real fingerprints picked per profile, with canvas, WebGL, audio and fonts spoofed; canvas defaults to Intelligent.
- Local API. Runs on localhost:5050 and creates, starts and stops profiles from Python, TypeScript or C#, proxy included.
- Docker. The engine runs in Docker for scraping on servers, not just on a desktop.
- Cloud and local profiles. Profiles stay on your machine without limit, or sync through the cloud to other devices and teammates.
- Teams. 3 members on the Free plan, unlimited from Startup.

How do I add a proxy to a Kameleo profile?
Click New, pick the device, OS and browser, and set Proxy to With Proxy. Keep the HTTP tab, enter gw.proxmint.com in IP or Hostname and 823 in Port, then your login in Username and your password in Password. Click Test Proxy, then Save & Start.
Does Kameleo work with SOCKS5 proxies?
Yes. Pick the SOCKS5 tab and use port 824 with the same host, username and password. From the Local API, set ProxyChoice's value to socks5 and the port to 824.
How do I set a proxy through the Kameleo Local API?
Pass proxy=ProxyChoice(value="http", extra=Server(...)) to CreateProfileRequest, with host gw.proxmint.com, port 823, your username as id and your password as secret. Start the profile and the proxy is already set.
How do I give each Kameleo profile its own IP?
Give each profile a distinct sessid in its username (sessid.kam01, sessid.kam02). Each profile then holds its own residential IP for up to 120 minutes, and a profile reopened later gets a fresh one.
Is Kameleo free?
Kameleo's Free plan has unlimited local profiles, 100 cloud profiles and 3 team members, with a cap on browser usage time. Startup, at €59 a month, lifts the cap; Business is €299 and Enterprise €1,499, each cheaper billed yearly.
